About K. International School Tokyo

K. International School Tokyo (KIST) is a private, co-educational, non-denominational day school serving the international community of Tokyo from pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. Founded in 1997, KIST provides academically motivated children from diverse cultural and social backgrounds with a high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment to develop competent, academic individuals with high moral character who make meaningful contributions to our global community.

Authorized as an IB World School by the International Baccalaureate (IB), KIST offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from K1 through Grade 5, and the IB Diploma Programme (DP) in Grades 11 and 12. To prepare students for the academic challenges of the DP, KIST offers a school-based Lower Secondary Programme (LSP) in Grades 6 through 8 and Pearson Education’s Edexcel IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10. KIST has been the highest-ranking school offering the IB Diploma in Japan since 2015, and is among the highest-ranking DP schools in the world.

KIST is conveniently located less than one minute from Kiyosumi-Shirakawa station (Oedo and Hanzomon subway lines) or approximately six minutes from Morishita station (Shinjuku subway line).

KIST is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is recognized as a school foundation by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
