Job Description:

Expert English is a small language school located in Soka City, Saitama Prefecture. We are a two-minute walk from Yatsuka Station on the Skytree Line, just over twenty minutes from Ueno.

We are seeking an experienced native English teacher for a part-time position teaching adult students. Candidates should be able to teach effective and enjoyable lessons to students of a variety of levels, ages and interests. A solid repertoire of teaching techniques and a strong understanding of English grammar - along with an ability to clearly convey this knowledge in lessons - are essential.

We are looking for someone to teach one or two evenings a week from 6:45pm-9:00pm (two one-hour lessons), preferably including Wednesdays. The amount paid per lesson is dependent on the number of students in each class. We use a sliding pay scale: a one student lesson pays 2,500 yen and a four student lesson pays 3,200 yen. If no students are scheduled for a lesson, you will still be paid, at the rate of 2,000 yen per hour. We also cover travel expenses.

Applicants must have a valid visa, currently reside in Japan, and be willing to commit to at least one year of employment. Only native speakers will be considered for the position: English must be your first language. In your application, please indicate which evenings you would be available to work. We are sorry but we will only reply to candidates who are selected for interview.
