Job Description:

Interac Kansai & South Central has *confirmed* ALT (assistant language teacher) opportunities in Sakai City in Osaka starting in the fall of 2018. This is your chance to work in area elementary and junior high schools!

ALTs enrich the lives of children by sharing your knowledge of English, building communication skills, and sharing cultural insights. Your job would be two-fold: language instructor and cultural ambassador. These two aspects are inseparable, and Interac ALTs aim to become experts in both. Entrusted with being the English expert in the classroom, you could expect to teach on your own, with a Japanese teacher present to help manage the classroom.

Interac ALTs can expect to:

- Get your new job off on the right foot with an intensive (paid!) initial training and orientation session
- Work Mondays to Fridays with most weekends and holidays off
- Have scheduled teaching hours between 8 am and 5 pm (7 hrs/day and a break)
- Work occasional evenings or weekends for special school events
- Attend on-going skills development and training programs
- Become an important part of your school and local community
- Have the chance to take advantage of opportunities that will prepare you for potential advancement to positions like, head teacher, trainer, or even office staff.

More particular to our positions in Sakai, **please note** that successful candidates are required to have either: a minimum of one year of teaching experience, a professional teacher license or a TEFL certificate.

However, if you do not meet these conditions, but are willing to commit to earning a TEFL before the contract starts (August 27th) you can qualify to receive up to 30,000 yen to help cover the cost of the TEFL course. Your recruiter can share more details with you during the application process.

Finally please also be aware that this position requires all ALTs to be enrolled in the social health insurance system.

COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION TODAY!

Before submitting your application, we strongly advise you to check the requirements listed above in order to ensure that you meet them. We also recommend that you double check the details on your resume in order to ensure that the status of residence, phone, email, previous work details, etc. are accurate.
