  • Be a university graduate holding a bachelor’s degree of science (or higher)
  • Be a native-level speaker of English
  • Have two years of teaching experience
  • Teaching certificate (Japanese or other country)
  • Show a deep interest in education and always staying up-to-date in their field

Laurus International School of Science offers a STEM curriculum to students ranging in age from 3 to 12 at several locations across the Tokyo and Yokohama areas. The Shiroganedai Campus is looking for homeroom teachers to continue to deliver the high-quality, science and math centered course of study. Working in concert with a Japanese teacher, homeroom teachers are also involved in the broader school community principally in charge of some club activities.

**Please note this position starts in March 2019.

As a Homeroom Teacher you can expect to:
  • Teach mathematics, English, social studies and art lessons
  • Manage club activities
  • Participate in school events

Working conditions:
  • 4.2 to 4.8 million yen annual salary with one bonus
  • Monday to Friday schedule with summer, New Years and Golden Week holidays
  • International working environment (70% foreign national staff) with small class sizes and dynamic curriculum
  • Enrollment in National Health and Pension schemes, Employment Insurance and Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance
  • Small student to teacher ratio of 10 students to one teacher
