Job Requirements:

Successful candidates (regardless of full or part time employment) will be required to:
  • Be a native-level speaker of English
  • Hold at least an associate’s degree
  • Be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Blend English and art studies in a unique blend of early childhood education
3.2 million yen annual salary for full-time / rates starting at 1,000 yen an hour for part-time

Happy Horizons is an international preschool based in Tokyo serving students aged 0 to 5 years. Utilizing the Reggio Emilia approach to childhood education, Happy Horizons strives to support a student-centered and constructivist pedagogy that utilizes self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven environments. They are looking for three classroom teacher and child-care staff, both full-time and part-time to join them at their Setagaya location.

As a classroom teacher you can expect to:
Design and deliver attractive and engaging lessons for young learners
Assist in art education and art projects using a variety of materials
Participate in team meetings and planning sessions
Attend school and outreach events

Working conditions
Full-time
  • 1 year employment contract
  • 3.2 million yen annual salary with performance-based bonus
  • 8 hrs between 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Transportation costs covered
  • Housing, materials and position allowances
  • Enrollment in National Health and Pension schemes, Employment Insurance and Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance
  • 20 paid holidays per year
  • Ongoing training programs
Part-time
  • 1 year employment contract
  • Starting from 1,000 yen per hour (3 day a week minimum commitment)
  • 8 hrs between 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Up to 20,000 yen per month in transportation costs reimbursed
  • 10 paid holidays per year
  • Ongoing training programs
