Job Requirements:

To be considered for this position candidates need to:
  • Be a university graduate with at least a bachelor’s degree
  • Be native-level speakers of English with Japanese ability sufficient to complete daily tasks (conversational or better)
  • Have teaching experience at the junior or senior high school level
  • Hold a certification such as teaching license, TEFL, CELTA etc.

Osaka Jogakuin Junior and Senior High School, a private, all-girls Christian institution founded in 1884, is focused on instilling in its students a strong sense of compassion and service through its motto of “Love and Compassion”. Internationally minded, the school as recently started an International Baccalaureate programwhich has succeeded in sending about 15 English course graduates abroad to foreign universities. In part to strengthen this program, Osaka Jogakuin is looking for one, full-time, certified English teacher for its junior high school program starting in *April 2019 (must be available for interviews in July 2018).

As an English Teacher you can expect to:
  • Plan, prepare materials and deliver English lessons
  • Work as a team with 1st year junior high school students and solo for 2nd year students
  • Manage attendance and other administrative tasks
  • Participate in school events, including morning worship services

Working conditions:
  • One year employment contract with a starting salary from 4.7 million yen per year and twice-annual bonuses
  • Summer and New Year’s holidays plus an additional 18 paid holidays
  • Work between 8:20 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Transportation costs are covered and a materials allowance for textbooks is available
  • Enrollment in National Health and Pension schemes, Employment Insurance and Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance
  • Note that visa sponsorship *is not available* for this position
