  • Be a native-level speaker of English with at least and associate’s degree
  • Demonstrate a history of work experience with children elementary school age and/or younger
  • Be proactive in engaging with young children and their parents/guardians
  • Have conversational-level Japanese ability
  • Be familiar with Japanese customs and standards of professional behavior

Blue Dolphin, serving Osaka’s Chuo Ward, Kashiwada City, Izumi City and more, is looking to expand their staff of teaching professionals by five instructors to meet their growing need for teaching staff in the greater Osaka area. Blue Dolphin is known for their small class sizes of up to 12 students in a team-taught environment, focusing on fostering international communication skills through fun activities and guided play.

As an After School English Teacher you can expect to:
  • Develop curriculums and make lesson plans
  • Manage small classes of up to 12 students aged from 5 to 12
  • Take a cooperative approach to team teaching - 2 teachers in 1 class
  • Further specialize on a main subject area based on your experience (child development, music, etc.)
  • Assist with other school-related duties from time to time

Working conditions:
  • 1 year contract (first contact up to end of March 2019, renewable for a full year thereafter)
  • Monday to Friday schedule, between 12 noon and 20:00 with actual working hours being 7 hours and 15 minutes total.
  • Starting annual salary of 2.76 to 3.06 million yen
  • Transportation cost reimbursed
  • Enrollment in National Health and Pension schemes, Employment Insurance and Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance
  • 10 paid holiday a year in addition to Golden Week, summer and New Year’s holidays and other welfare leave (ex. maternity and child birth etc.)
Blue Dolphin’s screening process will consist of two interviews with the possibility of a demo lesson (video or in-person). Further details will be provided over the course of the screening process.
