Contract term:
September 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019

Duties: 
1. Conducting classes
2. Conversing with students to provide them with counseling on language learning in the English Room (the Common room), open to students after school hours.
*The English Room (the Common room): An after school English conversation lounge where students may freely talk to native English speakers who, as their teachers, give advice on how to improve their language skills.

Desired Teacher:
The successful candidate will be a person capable of performing his/her duties with enthusiasm, integrity and a cooperative spirit, based on our school philosophy.

Details:
1. The first six months of employment will be a probationary period. *The payment, working days and hours and other details specified in this section will remain the same after the probationary period ends.

2. Working days and hours will be based on the calendar of events and the schedule of classes.
(1) Working days: Thursday and Friday.
(2) Working hours: Of the hours shown below, 5 to 12 class hours specified by the school.

(I)Class: 8:15 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. *50 minutes per class hour.
(I)English Room: 3:10 p.m. – 4:10 p.m., including break hours (1 class hours) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. , including break hours (3 class hours) on Saturdays.

3. Holidays will be based on the calendar of events and the schedule of classes.
(1)National Holidays 
September 30: Fall Holidays
December 25 – January 7: Winter Holidays
March 24 – March 31: Spring Holidays
Other dates that the school designates as holidays

(2)The following holidays are added when this contract is updated:
※the result of this academic year
April 1 – April 3: Spring Holidays
May 2: Founding Day of Showa Women’s University
July 21 – August 28: Summer Holidays

4. Compensation
Monthly Payment:  JPY 10,000 per month × the number of class per week.

Example:  If a teacher has 10 classes per week, the monthly salary would be JPY 100,000 per month.

 (i)  Break hours between classes are not paid for.
(ii) The Monthly Payments as fixed above are paid evenly throughout the year, including during long school holidays, when no classes are conducted.
(iii) An evaluation for the hourly wage will be conducted according to the Employee’s teaching experience at schools, as specified by the School Education Act.

Actual costs for travel to work shall be paid (up to  JPY 50,000 per month in accordance with the regulations).

Health and Welfare Benefits: The Employee will be covered by Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance.
