  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree

  • Be a native-level speaker of English

  • Have one year or more of teaching experience and the ability to teach mathematics

  • Hold some sort of teaching certificate for mathematics

  • Be familiar with the concepts of liberal arts education.

 

Job Description:

Kogakuin Junior and Senior High School, located in Hachioji in western Tokyo, is looking for one part-time English instructor to help their students with Project Based Learning (PBL) and Peer Instruction Lecture (PIL) courses. Serving over 8,000 students across all their campuses including their university courses, Kogakuin focuses on social development centered education reflected in their motto – “Challenge, Creation, Contribution”. Please note this position starts in April 2019.

 

As a Part-time Instructor you can expect to:

  • Attend planning meetings, design and deliver lessons

  • Participate in school events outside of normal classes

  • Teach some mathematic courses in English

  • Participate in team-taught lessons at a number of grade levels

Working conditions:

  • 1 year contract starting April 2019.

  • Typically work 3 days a week, depending on scheduled units

  • Competitive salary (details shared in course of screening process)

** Please note that, as this is a part-time position, visa sponsorship is not available

Kogaukin’s screening process will consist of two interviews and a math test. Further details will be provided over the course of the screening process.
