Job Requirements:

BEFORE YOU APPLY
  1. Please research EYFS in the classroom to get an idea of what you will be working with.
  2. Please confirm the location of our school and that it is practical for you to commute.
  3. Check out our YouTube channel by searching for Berry English International to see what we have been doing so far.
  4. Look at some nurseries and education centres in the UK that use EYFS for some ideas and to get an idea of where we want to be. I recommend "Starbuck Education" on YouTube as a good starting point.
Once you have done the above, please include in your cover letter your thoughts and ideas on the type of school you would like to create.

We do not sponsor visas until you have been with us for a full school year, so please do not apply unless you have a valid visa for at least a year.

Being a small business and a small school, we need someone motivated by the prospect of helping to shape a relatively young school into a fantastic early education centre.

Self-motivation is key - You will be required to manage your own time and to educate yourself on up-to-the-minute methods and concepts in the early childhood development field.

People management skills are essential to create and maintain an atmosphere where all the educators' skills and qualities are being used effectively and that the team can work together towards the common goal of a great learning and working environment. The ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds in an understanding and effective way is a must.

Familiarity, or the ability to become an expert on the EYFS system currently in use in the UK. This is the base curriculum we use as a jumping board and it is necessary to be confident in how this can be applied to an EAL setting.

Complete reliability. We are looking for someone to become a cornerstone team member in our school, so time off for whatever reason is disastrous. The ability to put measures in place for when unavoidable circumstances do arise and you cannot fulfil your responsibilities.

The ability to work with management to help achieve their goals and bring your own ideas to the table with the understanding that when opinions do differ, realising the management's dream is the top priority.

Job Description:

Berry English International Culture Centre is looking for a lead educator to help shape the school into the best international kindergarten in Saitama.

As we grow, we have found the need for a professional, capable and motivated teacher to manage the classroom. This will relieve the need to micromanage and allow the management to effectively develop the business and deal with outside pressures that a school has, knowing that the classroom has a dedicated representative.

The salary will be based on your current ability and experience. We will review your performance and salary regularly and will give bonuses up to a whole month's salary at the end of every school term (3 times per year) based on performance, reliability and attitude. We want to keep the right talent and be sure that if you make yourself an irreplaceable part of our team we will do our best to compensate you accordingly.

We want to offer professional development incentives by enrolling you on online courses and support your growth as an educator and practitioner of EYFS.

Our dream is not only to become the best school for children but also to become the best place for an educator to work at. We want happy staff, happy parents and, of course, happy children! All we ask for is an equal dedication to our own to make this happen.
