Job Requirements:

Required Skills

  • An IT technical background and Enterprise Data Center related work experience, financial company background is a plus
  • Good understanding of working in a live data center environment and the operational constraints
  • Critical thinking and confidence to question requests from other teams or departments.
  • Fluent English is a must. Proficiency communicating using Japanese is preferred but not a must. 
  • Advanced Excel skills a plus

Job Description:

EIRE Systems is looking to hire a Data Center Support Engineer to provide professional Data Center Operations and Project Support Services for one of its global banking sector clients. The successful candidate will be available to start quickly and will work on-site at the client’s Data Center facilities in the Tokyo area. 


Data Center Project Engineer - Job Description

  • Project position for a network upgrade project.
  • Reporting to a project manager for the Japan DC team related portion of the project.
  • Re-stack of existing devices to create space for new hardware.
  • Installation of new hardware - servers, network devices and other equipment.
  • Disposal of old hardware.
  • Cable patching of servers, network devices, etc.
  • Planning and Coordination with various IT teams and possibly external vendors
  • Change management request coordination
  • Inventory updates

This is a 12-month contract role and opportunities may become available to be integrated into the BAU service operations teams following completion of the project work.

 

Working hours

  • Generally weekend work with midweek holidays (not every weekend, dependent on project schedule)
  • Typically 1pm – 10pm on weekdays and 8am – 5pm on weekends.


Location/Environment:

The candidate will work at our customers data center sites in Kawasaki-shi and Koto-ku, Tokyo (we will do our best to assign the site location best suited to your place of residence, however applicants would be expected to be available for one or both locations).
