Custom Media is an award-winning design, publishing and digital communications agency based in central Tokyo. We seek enthusiastic, ambitious and goal-oriented sales professionals with a proven track record to work in our expanding Creative Services sales team.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for selling our creative services including graphic design and print publishing, digital and social media solutions, and video production services. The candidate will also be responsible for selling advertising space for our online bilingual video channel, Business in Japan TV, and for bespoke publishing projects.

Job Description:

  • Sell advertising, creative and marketing communication services
  • Proactively contact existing and new clients, including cold calling
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors
  • Develop new business strategies and services to meet client’s needs
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the company’s products and services
  • Attend and contribute to weekly sales meetings

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Fluent in English; business level Japanese 
  • Minimum 3 years successful sales experience
  • Prefer experience or interest in media, advertising, marketing, communications
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve sales targets
  • Must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious
  • Ability to identify new business and marketing opportunities
  • Comfortable networking, meeting and selling to top decision-makers
