Aichi International School is looking for a qualified and passionate individual to be the main class teacher in a kindergarten in a class of children aged 3-4 years old. This is a full-time position working with up to 12 students and another teacher in support at certain times of day.
The successful applicant would be responsible for planning, teaching and managing this class during the day. The working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm with class hours from 9:30am to 3:00pm. There are also a small number of events during the year outside of regular working hours and the applicant would need to be flexible with their schedule at these times.
Applicants must be confident with leading a class, lesson planning and following and contributing to the school curriculum. They should be able to balance discipline with patience and caring with responsibility. Additionally, they should also be creative and adaptable.
Due to the age of the students in question, any applicant must be confident will changing diapers and cleaning up vomit. The children in this class are usually toilet trained before the year begins but accidents happen and the applicant must be confident with dealing with these incidents. Due to the age, we will also be prioritising female applicants.
As this is a position involving young children, it is critical that we hire people who are dedicated and will meet their contractual commitments. As such we offer a 600,000 yen completion bonus at the end of the contract with an option to renew up to three years subject to performance.
Although Japanese language knowledge is not necessary for the position, this is a Japanese-owned school with Japanese staff and many Japanese students attend the school. An appereciation for Japanese norms of behaviour and culture is expected.
