Job Description:

Do you love teaching kids? Are you creative? Do you love to sing and dance?  Then this might be the job for you. 
 
Zoo-phonics was developed by two elementary school teachers in California, U.S.A. in the early 1980s and is used in many preschools, kindergartens, and elementary schools around the world.  There are currently 20 Zoo-phonics Academy Schools spanning across 8 prefectures throughout Japan.
 
Zoo phonics Chiba is located in the heart of Chiba City which is 30 minutes outside of Tokyo. 
 
We have a great team of teachers who take a lot of pride in what they do.  Our school is highly academic with subjects like English, Math, and Science.  We are looking for people that are courteous, respectable, responsible, outgoing, flexible and friendly to work at our International Preschool/Kindergarten. 
 
You should be able to demonstrate awareness to the changing needs of young learners in both small and mid-sized classrooms, as well as developing the abilities of each individual student.  We are looking for people who are great team players and who can also show off their own talents and creativity.  Being able to set a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom is very important.  In order to be a teacher at our school, you must be able to demonstrate that.
 
We are currently taking applications for full and part time positions. 
 
Our full time positions include teaching our pre-school/kindergarten classes as well as our afternoon elementary classes. 
 
Full time position salary ranges from 250,000 to 270,000 based on experience.
Part time position salary ranges from 150,000 to 180,000 based on experience.
 
Working hours are from 9:00 am to 17:30 pm Monday thru Friday (It is a straight 8 hour work day, so we do not have split shifts).
 
All resumes will be screened, but only successful applicants will be contacted.  There is a two-step interview process in place.  If you are asked to come back for a second interview, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities by performing a demo lesson. 
 
Employees shall receive:
  • initial and ongoing training throughout the year
  • a total of 4 weeks paid vacation (2 weeks in summer and winter and all national holidays)
  • 5 paid personal days to use at your convenience
  • all transportation fees paid
  • performance bonus with completion of contract
  • yearly medical/physical evaluation
  • 2 required work weekends per year
  • If moving from a different city or prefecture, we can provide assistance with finding a new apartment, etc.
  • yearly monetary raise (performance based)
  • opportunity for advancement
