As New Client Representative, you will be in charge of running our sales operations while working closely with the Director of Marketing, Head of Customer Success, and our Academic Directors. Your main responsibilities will include running diagnostics (or initial sales conversations) with customers, welcoming new customers into Tokyo Academics, providing sound educational guidance for incoming/prospective students, and coordinating with tutors to create a supportive academic plan for the diagnostics. Finally, this role will help foster and develop relationships within the local community and at international schools surrounding Tokyo.

 

What you will work on:

  • Follow up on leads – via email, calls, etc. to establish relationships within the current Tokyo Academics community.
  • Reach out to prospective customers and close new customers to get started with tutoring services, including matching with the appropriate tutor and running the diagnostic session.
  • Provide a detailed understanding of our services and offer expertise to customers in support of our tutoring services.
  • Coordinate with our Customer Success team to transition new clients into Tokyo Academics.
  • Identify customer needs and refer customers to appropriate resources for academic support, while working within Tokyo Academics guidelines and values at all times.
  • Meet regularly with senior management to report on Sales Team performance and provide overall guidance on new direction and initiatives within the sales department
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate sales records, including maintaining sales records, processing incoming client requests, preparing sales quotes, budgets, and reports
  • Understanding market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales; share information with customers as part of value-added services provided.
  • Establish new sales channels to build your book of business.

 

Our ideal candidate:

  • Fluent English (speaking/reading/writing), Fluent or Native Japanese (speaking/reading/writing)
  • Results-driven, autonomous, and flexible.
  • Thorough knowledge in multiple online cloud-based Customer Relationship Management software (ie. Hubspot).
  • High proficiency with Microsoft and Internet applications (Google Sheets, Docs, etc)
  • Good systematic and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, curious and a self-starter.
  • 2+ years experience in a similar sales role or at an education company.

Work hours:

  • 40hrs per week
