• Frontend Experience

• Experience building complex, scalable web apps and APIs
• Backend Experience
• Strong Node.js experience
• Confident in using backend infrastructure like MongoDB, Redis, Apache/Nginx, AWS, SQL technologies

General Skills and Best Practices

• Advanced problem-solving and debugging skills: Deep experience in writing testable code
• Adept at using profiling, logging, and browser tools for debugging
• Adept at identifying and resolving feature edge cases
• Well-versed in various types of web frameworks
• Comfortable contributing to engineering-related infrastructure (CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, CM Tools)
• Track record of high quality code review

It would be good if you have:

• At least two years of React experience
• Typescript experience
• Previous team lead experience
• Experience refactoring/migrating a large project
• Experience making a real-time SPA (single page app) using websockets
• Experience deploying, scaling cloud Infrastructure
• Previous experience in implementing web security against XSS, query injections, CSRF, brute force attacks, etc.
• Conversational Japanese language ability

And bonus points if you have:

• Experimentation with deep learning, AI systems
• SEO experience

We are looking for a talented Senior Web Developer with strong work experience in Angular, React, and Express/Node.

Engineer Interview Process:

• Initial phone screen
• Interviews with engineers (which may include a coding interview)
• Coding project (apparently this is mandatory for remote interviewers but optional interviewees already in Tokyo)

For Frontend developer positions, they normally require 4 years of Javascript experience and experience working on complex, scalable web apps. They use Javascript on the backend as well and so they require strong Node.js experience. They also value being able to write testable code and being able to work with various types of web frameworks and CI/CD systems.
