ALTIA CENTRAL is now accepting applications to join our team of talented ALTs with a position in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture. Kariya is located in central Aichi Prefecture with convenient access to Nagoya and Toyota Cities. With a population of over 149,000 people and home to Kozutsuminishi Pond, which was designated as a national natural monument, it is a great location to live. This in an elementary only position starting from September 1st with Orientation Training in late August. This position is at two schools and can be done by a non-driver.

ALTIA CENTRAL will be conducting weekday interviews on an ongoing basis at our offices in Nagoya and Osaka, as well as making several weekend recruiting trips to Shizuoka, Tokyo, Okayama and Hiroshima as necessary to meet local applicants. During our regular recruiting seasons we also interview overseas in a number of cities in the US, UK and Australia.

Our ideal applicant is a native English speaker with a bachelor's degree (or higher) who is flexible, culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for students.

We would also prefer applicants who have previously spent some time studying or working in Japan, and as many ALT positions do require driving, we prefer people who can or would be able to drive in Japan.

ALTs work in public schools assisting Japanese teachers, helping to provide enjoyable and energetic lessons, and interacting with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Working as an ALT is a great opportunity to improve your Japanese language ability through cooperation with Japanese staff, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly, to be positively involved with the development and well-being of young children.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation, positive relationships with Boards of Education, and is respected by the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in the Kansai area as well.
