Mihara, Hiroshima - Mihara city is a fantastic place to live located on the coast of the Seta Inland Sea, which sits between Honshu and Shikoku and is said to contain more than 3,000 islands. Outside of the city limits and on the surrounding islands, the traditional ways of Old Japan still remain nearly intact, and tile roofs are far more common than tenement buildings. Please take a look at the video below to see why we love living in this city.
Salary / Benefits
- 250,000 - 270,000 yen monthly (depending on experience and qualifications). Mihara's living cost is considerably less than that of more metropolitan areas.

- Over five weeks of paid vacation per year

Responsibilities:
Conduct small group classes with a diverse range of ages. Plan and organize exciting extracurricular activities (Halloween and Christmas parties, camping, barbecues). Prepare lessons, attend meetings, write class reports, and promote the school's curriculum. Collaborate with other passionate foreign teachers to create a vibrant teaching environment.
Training:
We offer a comprehensive four-week training program that prepares new teachers to use our textbooks and equips them with a plethora of teaching ideas. Additionally, there is an observation period with the departing teacher to ensure a seamless transition for both the students and the new teacher. We continue to provide ongoing support with resources covering various subjects. We also hold weekly meetings for teachers to share their teaching ideas and discuss and solve classroom-related issues.
School:
Our newly refurbished Mihara school features 10 classrooms styled to accommodate various class levels from toddlers to adults. All classrooms are air conditioned and can seat between six to nine students. Teachers have access to a large preparation room to plan lessons and discuss teaching strategies with other teachers, as well as a separate breakroom for lunches. The school's wide layout makes the space feel welcoming and uncrowded for both teachers and students alike.
Start Date:
Starting in October, November or January 2025 is not too early for us.
Cover letter:
Please start the first paragraph of your cover letter with the word "Banana." We want instructors who want to work at K&F and not those who just apply for any job.
Not A Number:
At K&F, you’re not a number but a valued employee and teacher. All managers are also teachers and understand what being in the classroom is like. Collaboration with other teachers is a must.
