Job Description

Join GWG to lead kids in fun, engaging classes, at a company who knows teachers because we are teachers. Learn and earn for yourself while having fun and empowering kids!

POSITION: Morning preschool teacher at Gymboree Japan, and afternoon elementary-age conversation teacher at Gymboree/Wisdom Academy locations (3-4 full days/week with ½ days possible). Some positions have shorter or longer amounts of work so salaries are adjusted accordingly. Ex: 930am-630pm 3x weekdays, 3-6pm 2x weekdays. We strongly prefer candidates who can work Saturdays as well, 9:00-14:00 or 9:00-17:00.

We can be very flexible and you can customize your schedule with us. For example, you could choose to only work afternoons or only mornings as your earnings are hourly based, depending on the type of work. Starting teachers can expect to earn ~8000 yen/day for morning work and ~7000 yen/day for afternoon work.

Weekday afternoons usually 15:30-18:30 at Wisdom Academy after school locations:

Ichigaya - Tues, Thurs 15:00-18:00
Ebisu - Weds, Thurs, Fri 14:30-17:30 - starts ASAP!
Futakotamagawa - Mon, Weds 15:30-18:30
Funabashi - Tues, Thurs 15:30-18:30
Komazawadaigaku - Mon, Weds 15:30-18:30
Kaihinmakuhari - Mon, Weds, Thurs, Fri 15:30-18:30
Kokubunji - Tues, Weds 15:30-18:30
Ojikamiya - Tues, Weds, Thurs 15:30-18:30
Hanakoganei - Mon, Fri 15:30-18:30

REQUIREMENTS:

-Excellent English speaking ability (non-native English is acceptable!)

-Strongly preferred: one year or more experience educating groups of children

SALARY: 14,500-16,500 yen/day (starting around 15,000 yen/day)

Up to 29.5 hours/wk.

NON-NATIVE Teachers welcome! (though we do require near-native English proficiency)
