KASUGAI’s focus is business systems development for client companies.
We currently have an open position for a Data Engineer.
If you are successful, you will engage in a wide range of activities, including software development, planning, defining requirements, design, programming, testing, and evaluation.
Our know-how will enable you to further acquire critical skills to work in the IT industry.
Essential Skills
The successful applicant will have:
Practical experience of data cleansing, structuring, and systematization of those data subject to analysis.
Understanding of the principles of machine learning, statistics or graph theory algorithms.
Practical experience of employing programming ability and the use of libraries and middleware required for the implementation of the above (e.g., SQL, Java or Python or R).
Ability to organize client’s issues logically, and further the work of the team while communicating with in-house analysts.
Experience in upstream operations such as problem management, business analysis, requirement definition, etc.
Ability to use English in a work environment.
Japanese ability to a standard equivalent to JLPT N3.
Preferred Skills
Applicants are preferred to have:
Development method: knowledge related to Agile software development.
Practical experience of using HBase, Hive, Hadoop and Spark.

Working time:
Basic working hours: 09:30 ~ 18:30 (including a break of 60 minutes). *These times may differ depending on project requirements.
Actual working hours: 8 hours per day.

Working days: Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri (required). *These days may differ depending on project requirements.
Working location:
Location: Nagoya City and surrounding area. *You will not be transferred.
JR Chuo Line: four minutes on foot to Chikusa Station.
Nagoya Municipal Subway: five minutes on foot to Chikusa Station on the Higashiyama Line, or five minutes on foot to Kurumamichi Station on the Sakuradori Line.
Private car: not possible.
Remuneration and Working Conditions:
Remuneration
Reimbursement of commuting expenses (up to a maximum of approx. JPY30,000). *agreed by consultation.
Final salary to be decided based on applicable work experience and skills.
Holiday
2 days holiday per week (more than 118 days’ holiday per year).
