Job Requirements
Work Requirements:
The instructor must:
- be able and willing to travel long distances to teach in Nagasaki
- be available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; from early morning to late evening
- be able and willing to teach large groups of students using approved materials
- be responsible and flexible enough to complete all assigned administrative tasks accurately and on time
- be available during November 28 to December 2 to join an Instructor Qualification Program (IQP) session
- be available on a Tuesday or a Thursday in December to travel to Nagasaki to observe a live lesson
Qualification Requirements:
We are seeking instructors who:
- have a minimum of BA or BS degree
- are already living in/near Fukuoka City or in Nagasaki
- are native (or native fluent) English speakers
- are dynamic, mature and professional
- are culturally sensitive and have excellent organizational and communication skills
Good-to-have:
- Currently living in Nagasaki, preferably in Sasebo,
- be willing to take on additional lessons at Hakata Ekimae Language Center when not in Nagasaki,
- be willing to take on additional roles, such as assessors,
- be able enough with changing availability to cater to the needs of our customers, especially weekday evenings
- be able to combine their experience with exemplary teaching skills in delivering Berlitz-quality lessons
- be able to manage the completion of tasks and preparation for lessons on their own
- be flexible enough to manage unexpected requests and changes in a calm, professional manner
- be open to learning and applying new techniques and concepts for professional development, both in teaching and in personalizing business and social topics
- be capable of learning quickly from past mistakes and failures in order to maximize customer satisfaction and meet Berlitz quality standards
More details regarding traveling to Nagasaki will be shared during the face-to-face interview.

Visa/Residence Requirements:
Only domestic applications from those already residing in Japan and available for in-person interviews in Fukuoka will be considered. Overseas applications will not be considered.

Job Description
Berlitz Japan Hakata Ekimae Language Center has new Per Lesson (PL) positions available. We are looking for professionally minded, experienced instructors who think on their feet and are looking for a challenge. We need instructors who can teach at one of our client sites in Nagasaki, as well instructors who can cover lessons at our language center in Hakata.
Our specialty is personalizing lessons to find solutions for our customers’ unique needs.
