Tokyo YMCA International School is looking for Part-Time Substitute Teachers to join their team on a casual basis. We are looking for Teachers with experience in teaching different subjects and age groups.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Educated to bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) minimum - related subjects

Teaching qualification or equivalent teaching experience, working with students in grade K-8

Good IT skills are essential as the class goes online when needed

Demonstrates consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct

Ability to comply with written and or oral instructions

Ability to create an efficient working relationship with other personnel

Proficiency in maintaining efficient classroom management skills

Fluent in English

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Implements and delivers effective lessons as outlined by the absent teacher Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students

Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned

Maintains reasonable rules of conduct that encourage self-discipline and responsibility

Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities

Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the supervisor and school personnel immediately

Communicates effectively with parents when/as needed - Supervise students in out-of-class settings (e.g., assemblies, lunchroom, schoolyard)

Continuously strive to improve professional competence and collaboration with colleagues and communities

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
