EFL Junior Teacher - Head Teacher - Nagoya, Japan
Position Starts March / April 1st 2020 - Training in March 2020

What kind of teacher are we looking for?

You like people, especially kids. You like teaching. You are a native English speaker. You are a university graduate. You have prior teaching experience with young EFL students in Japan. You understand EFL methodology.

You are committed to becoming a better teacher. You attend teacher training seminars. You have good people skills and a high EQ. You know how to get along with co-workers and managers. You can follow directions. You can listen to feedback (that means criticism) without getting upset. Check that ego at the door.

* Students range in age from 2 – 15. Some adult lessons as well.
* We use a well-developed curriculum
* Students grouped according to English proficiency and not age
* Weekly teacher training / idea sharing sessions
* All classes are held on site (no travelling off site required)
* Nice students / we have carefully built our school’s student base

Minimum qualifications:
1  a bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year university
2  experience working with kids.
3  paid teaching experience (teaching license / TEFL / TESOL preferred)
4  prior work or life experience in Japan.
5  minimum 1 year commitment to the job
6  good people skills / a high EQ
7  behavior that is consistent with that of an Early Childhood teacher
8  the ability to work independently once a clear direction has been given

Other details:
Full time work / 5 days a week / Tuesday - Saturday
Approximately 25 classes per week
Approximately 40 total work hours per week
6 weeks paid vacation per year
1st year salary range: 270,000 to 300,000 yen / month depending on qualifications

Contract completion bonus (honor your commitment, we’ll pay you for it)
