House Parent(s) for a Boarding School

Our new British / Japanese Junior Boarding School opening in April 2020, is seeking House Parents to provide and maintain a safe and healthy domestic environment for all our students on campus (students aged 6-12) during the academic year. We’re looking for caring, compassionate, and experienced professionals with empathy for children and prioritises strong communication and engagement. Responsibilities include supporting and assisting the arrangement of student activities within their boarding houses, excursions, afternoon sports and social programmes. As the role involves caring for international students, we are looking for someone who is approachable and able to deal with problems efficiently and calmly as they arise, such as cases of homesickness. The ideal applicant will have previous experience of living within a residential environment. In addition, we are seeking someone who has high standards of professionalism and excellent personal skills when working with children and adults. The ideal applicant will have previous experience of living within a residential environment and possess a high level of both Japanese and English. An excellent overall package is offered with accommodation, food, and health cover which is provided by the school.

Language:

Japanese - Native level (Preferred)

English - Conversational to Fluent Level(Preferred)

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience:

Working with children, caregiving (preferred)

Teaching or any teaching qualifications in ESL (suggested)

Site management, housekeeping or as a nanny (suggested)

Any specializations in Computers or IT, outdoor education or other educational areas (e.g. Science, Maths, Writing) that would benefit young children (suggested)
