職務内容
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Board of Education is now accepting applications for Part-time Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) for the upcoming school year (April 2024 - March 2025).
The types of schools range from Senior high-school, Junior High School, Schools for Special Needs Education, Elementary, Evening school, or any combination. The geographic locations to request employment are separated into regions: 23 Ward area, East and West Tokyo, so there is flexibility in selecting your preferred location and schedule.
For those unfamiliar with ALT work, ALTs teach alongside the Japanese teachers of English in the primary and secondary education schools.
DIC International has been selected to undertake the initial selection and interviewing for these positions on behalf of the BOE. Please note that the employment contract will be between the BOE and the individual teacher so you are working directly for the BOE and not dispatched via an agency.
Salary
- 5,500 yen per hour
- Transportation fee paid (within limitation)
Note: The exact days, times and number of hours will be decided with the successful ALT and school which he/she will be placed at.
Application process
Please apply with resume and cover letter via JobsinJapan.com. Upon successful selection, you will be sent an interview data sheet which asks for more information on your preferred teaching location and availability.
While the final hiring decision and employment contract will be with the Board of Education, DIC International will conduct the first round interviews and then submit those that have passed to the Board of Education for consideration and placement.
Over to you
As employment starts in the beginning of April, we look forward to your application and interview availability promptly.
Even if you are nominated as a candidate in the list, that does not necessarily mean that you are guaranteed to eventually be employed as an ALT by the Tokyo Metropolitan school. DIC is undertaking the initial applicant screening; however, the final decision will be determined by the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education.
We kindly ask for your understanding, in advance.
