Your Qualifications:

Native English speaker or can prove native-level fluency
Bachelor's degree required (university/college degree)
ESL/EFL teaching experience required
Valid driver's license required
CELTA/TESOL/TEFL certification preferred
Basic Japanese preferred

職務内容

About the Position:

We are looking for a full-time English teacher. We try to place our teachers where they are most comfortable and will succeed most. The hired teachers will provide lessons not only at some of our 4 Keio Academy locations, but also at local kindergartens, schools and businesses. Therefore, there are many opportunities to improve your teaching skills and form bonds with students and the local community.

Along with planning and teaching lessons (You will be provided a curriculum), staff are also involved with various event planning, preparation and production tasks - mainly for an Easter event, a summer bus trip, Halloween and Christmas.

There's also potential for a permanent position for the right person in the future.

Employment:

Contract: Commencing April 1st, 2025
Starting salary 2,700,000-3,000,000(depending on experience and qualifications)
Visa sponsorship and renewal support
Working days: Tues-Sat (40 total working hours)
Lesson hours: 22-25 lesson hours/week (minimum 1-2 hours lesson preparation time daily)

The cost of living in Nakatsu is considerably less than that of more metropolitan areas.

Location:

Nakatsu City is a mid-sized city in northern Kyushu. It has a population of about 80,000 people and a rich Japanese history. It is big enough to be convenient, in regards to shopping and transportation, but small enough to retain its charm and lower living costs. It's home to Nakatsu castle, as well as many shrines, temples, festivals and parks. The yearly Nakatsu Gion festival is a major attraction of the area, as is the neighboring Usa Shrine, which is one of the most famous and important shrines in Japan. Nakatsu also boasts some very nice hiking trails, cycling paths and numerous hot springs. It is very conveniently located near larger cities like Kokura, Fukuoka, Oita and the hot springs resort city of Beppu -all of which are only a short distance away by train or car.
