Build Your Career, Not Just Your Passport
Are you an ALT looking for structural support, financial predictability, and the freedom to explore the real Japan? If you are frustrated by positions that have pay gaps during the year, or dispatch environments that leave you feeling unsupported, this driving position offers a major upgrade.
At Interac, we know that today's Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) are looking for much more than just a job placement. You are looking for a convenient position with training and support from your employer, all while offering a secure, comfortable standard of living.
We are currently recruiting motivated individuals who can drive to join public schools in the vibrant communities of [CITY PREFECTURE]. If you are seeking a professional upgrade from your current dispatch company or workplace, we offer a foundation built entirely on respect, financial transparency, and professional growth.
The Reality of the Role
You will be placed in public [SCHOOL LEVEL] schools within the region, working a stable schedule Monday through Friday, from 8 to 5. Your weekends and public holidays are fiercely protected, allowing you the time, and with your vehicle, the ultimate freedom, to travel, explore, and recharge.
Rather than acting as a passive assistant, you will be an active pedagogical partner, acting as T1 or T2 as the situation requires.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Co-teaching dynamic, communicative English lessons alongside Japanese Homeroom Teachers (HRTs) or Japanese Teachers of English (JTEs).
- Autonomously developing and implementing engaging classroom activities, tailored worksheets, and conversation games.
- Assisting with extracurricular activities, such as English Clubs, speech contest mentoring, or school sports days, fostering genuine, lasting connections with your students.
- Acting as an authentic cultural ambassador, bringing global perspectives into the Japanese classroom.
Uncompromising Support & Benefits
We operate on the belief that you can only support your students if your employer fully supports you. We proudly offer an industry-leading compensation and vehicle support package:
- Predictable Income: A guaranteed, fixed monthly salary.
- Transparent Holiday Pay: Unlike dispatch companies that leave you financially stranded in the summer/winter, we ensure you'll get 12 monthly payments throughout the year.
- Comprehensive Social Insurance: Immediate enrollment in Shakai Hoken (Health Insurance and Pension). We pay our legal corporate share, ensuring your long-term security and healthcare access.
- Vehicle & Commuting Support: 100% of your work-related commuting costs are reimbursed monthly.
- Dedicated Visa Sponsorship: Full sponsorship for the Instructor Visa if required.
- Award-Winning Safety: Interac won the GoOverseas Community Choice Awards Gold Award for Safety in 2025! Our third consecutive year winning this prestigious award for providing top-level support and a safe working environment.
Who We Are Looking For
We value character, adaptability, and independent resilience above all other traits. Because this position relies on regional flexibility, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Driving Credentials: Must possess one of the following legal driving documents:
- A valid Japanese Driver's License.
- A valid International Driver's Permit (IDP) issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention paired with a valid foreign driver's license.
- Driving Confidence: Comfortable operating a standard compact vehicle safely under Japanese traffic laws and navigating local school routes.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in any academic discipline.
- Language History: A minimum of 12 years of formal education conducted entirely in English.
- Experience: [Specify Experience, e.g., Previous ALT experience in Japan preferred, but open to strong candidates with an asset of independent driving experience].
- Mindset: A high degree of professional adaptability; Japanese public schools require immense patience, flexibility, and a positive approach to sudden schedule changes.
- Professional Appearance: No visible tattoos or body modifications on the hands, wrists, face, neck, ears.
