I'm Derek, the owner of Pacific Coast Auto. We are a medium sized used car export company based in Yokohama. I moved from Canada to Japan in 2006 to start an export company with an emphasis on honest business practices and value for the customers. We have been growing steadily in the 12 years we have been in business.

We work with auctions around Japan to purchase and export vehicles. Our customers are individual buyers and larger car dealerships. We like what we do and are looking for fellow car enthusiasts.

We are looking for an outstanding person to join at an entry level with room for expansion. It's important to find someone that also loves cars and wants to work in the industry but more than anything, we want someone with the right personality to fit with our excellent team. This should be someone that enjoys working for a smaller company that is dynamic and growing quickly.

 
Job Description
We work with auctions around Japan to purchase and export vehicles for buyers around the world. We work with individual buyers and larger car dealerships.

If you are interested in cars, this is a very special opportunity for you to work with what you enjoy. Much of the work is helping customers buy the right car. We help with pricing advice, buying strategy, car information, and general organization of the process.

Work hours are 5 days a week.

Typical work schedule is 9:00 am - 6:00 pm with a 1-hour break.
Benefits

• Starting salary of 250,000 yen plus commission based on sales

• Personal taxes done by our accountant with full withholding
• At-cost personal car buying service
• 20,000 yen maximum monthly transport to the office

Job Requirements
These are the minimum requirements

• Currently live in Japan
• Be legal to work in Japan (typically this means a 4-year degree or married to a Japanese citizen)
• Have a Japanese driver's license at the time of being hired.
• Excellent at written communication and customer service through email.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and contribute to a healthy work environment.
• Ability to juggle several tasks without feeling overwhelmed or frustrated.
• Above average with computer work in general

These are useful for us

• Love cars and have a good knowledge to begin with and be eager to learn more.
• Be able to do basic automotive work and use tools.
• Have experience in mechanical work, car painting, body work, vehicle prep, welding, etc.
• Have experience with video editing, camera operation, or video production
• Be able to speak Japanese or another language.
• Have a Japanese driver's license for higher capacity trucks.
