We are a family owned and operated English school that has been open since 2012. We currently have four schools: KANBECHO and ASAHIGAOKA in Suzuka, OIWAKE in Yokkaichi and another located in KAMEYAMA. We currently have around 250 students of all age ranges but mostly those in Elementary school.

JOB TITLE: FULL TIME ENGLISH TEACHER

We are looking for  Full time teacher with a starting salary of ¥250,000yen/month. There are also bonus periods in SUMMER and WINTER where the teacher’s performance, ability to attract/maintain students and be a productive team member will be financially rewarded. We also provide annual raises based on performance as well.

We do not provide health insurance or pension as we are not a public company yet. But we are actively working towards that for the future.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

This position is 5 days a week. The teacher will have Sunday and Monday off every week as well as 5 weeks paid vacation a year: Golden week, two weeks in OBON and two weeks at New Years. The teacher will work in the KANBE office in downtown Suzuka.The teacher will mainly work with Elementary school aged children but there are also preschool, junior high school/high school and adult lessons both online and in person.

 

HOURS:

Generally the hours range from 14:00 - 21:30 weekdays and 9:00-16:00 Saturdays. Like all EIKAWA the hours are fluctuating but will not exceed 40 hours a week. Our current teachers usually work around 35 hours.

The teacher must like to play with children and be physically able to dance with them. It is important that the teacher demonstrate good organizational skills and classroom management as each school has one teacher. Therefore, the teacher must be reliable and trustworthy.

There is a great deal of responsibility and independence working at our schools. Branch schools essentially become under the control of the teacher assigned to them. This also means a freedom to decorate or make the classroom your own. We encourage a proactive and creative teacher.

 

You will not have to worry about micro managing with our company. We trust our staff members and we hope to have that trust rewarded with a happy work environment as a positive member of the team.

There is also the possibility of upward movement in our school if a teacher wants to commit to a future with MWE. Not many EIKAWA can say that the possibility of becoming a public company can mean the teachers can manage their own branch in the future.

All curriculums are prepared and the teacher simply has to follow the general classroom flow without needing to prepare or submit lesson plans daily. The teachers need only to add their personal “spice” to the class to make it a friendly and entertaining atmosphere for our students and customers.

We work cooperatively to create fun lessons for HALLOWEEN and CHRISTMAS. Before the pandemic we also had BBQ parties, beer garden parties for adult students, and year end parties. We like to reward our team members for their hard work and effort.

A company car will be leased to the teacher for a monthly fee of around 12,000 yen. The teacher may keep the car and use it for all their personal use as long as they keep the car in good condition. We also pay for inspection as well as insurance for all accidents except incidences where the car collides with an driverless object (ex. guardrail). The management will provide gas money for mileage to and from work.
