Applicants should have some English teaching experience. 1 year in Japan would be great, but not necessary. We will consider teachers living in Japan or overseas as well.

If in Japan, a Japanese driver's license is important. Coming from overseas, we would need a license from your home country, and then get your Japanese license here.

A bachelor's or associate degree.

職務内容

You will be teaching in Nagano prefecture, in the heart of Japan. A beautiful location surrounded by the Japanese Alps.

Our students range from 2 years old through adults. Schedule is Monday through Friday. Mostly after school and evening work.  A couple days a week there are morning and early afternoon classes.  The monthly salary is for teaching up to 23 hours a week. You are required to prepare lessons, be to class 5-10 minutes before classes begin. Most classes use textbooks, so prep time is minimal as you get familiar with the books. Dress is casual, but clean. Sometimes going to a corporate lesson, you may be required to dress up a bit more.

You should be good with kids, friendly and easy going. Speak slowly and clearly especially with our beginner adult students.

Some days there are a few hours between classes. You are free to come and go during those breaks.

 

Benefits

4 weeks paid vacation.  Japanese holidays also are taken.

2 days sick leave a year. (if more is needed we do our best to cover for you)

Apartment near school is set up and deposits are paid. Teacher pays the rent of 38,000 yen a month.

We also assist with getting the Visa. As well as doing business around town such as doctor's appointments, and city office registration.
