Trainees study Second Language Acquisition theory, teaching methodologies, and the principles behind Communicative Language Teaching. The course also develops language awareness and grammatical knowledge across word classes, modal and conditional verbs, sentence elements, verb tenses, phonology, and the International Phonetic Alphabet. During the teaching practicum, trainees learn to design, deliver, and evaluate lessons. Graduates who complete the program receive an internationally recognized TESOL certificate validated by the Paris University of International Education in France.
Its strongest differentiator is first-hand classroom experience. Through the teaching practicum, trainees work with Japanese learners across a range of age groups, from children to adults, and in both one-to-one and group settings.
Graduates complete a minimum of 10 hours of supervised teaching practice. That balance of theory and practical classroom work helps them set realistic learning objectives, deliver thoughtful lessons, build confidence, and reflect on their teaching for continuous improvement.
