About AES Eikaiwa
AES is a single-location English conversation school with 200+ students, proudly owned and operated by an American owner and his Japanese wife. Our dedicated team comprises English-speaking Japanese office staff and part-time teachers, both foreign and Japanese. Founded in 2015 in a small living room with 4 students, it has since grown into a supportive team, specializing in teaching children from babies to junior high school through
-
fun and personalized lessons
-
running events throughout the a year to build stronger bonds with our students and their families
-
collaborating with other schools and businesses
-
assisting in organizing teacher conferences
-
and being a strong part of our small rural community.
We aim to create a place where students and teachers can feel safe to be silly and have fun. Students learn best when they feel relaxed; when they can laugh at silly jokes. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and we’re looking for team members who think they can fit into such an environment! If you like to make jokes, but can also harness that energy into pushing students to try new English words and phrases, then you might be a fit for us!
At our core, we value
-
hard work
-
responsibility
-
ownership over one’s own learning
and we expect that from all our students. We also believe that students are most receptive to learning if they trust us and feel supported so we are constantly creating an environment where students feel respect and support. For example, if students are struggling in lessons, we offer them free study support with our office staff before or after lessons. We listen to our students and do what we can to meet their needs. We extend this attitude to our staff as well. We encourage our staff to pursue projects they are interested in, from event ideas to redecorating the school. We strongly believe that if our staff feel respected and are put in an environment where they can shine, they will.
We plan to expand our single location to a multi-location school and are looking for a strong team to help us do that. If you’re passionate about teaching, enthusiastic about creating a supportive learning environment, and looking for a position with growth potential, AES might be the perfect place for you.
