We are a private high school in central Tokyo that will launch an international program in 2024. It will be much more than the typical international courses aimed at expats and returnees. This course will be for regular Japanese kids, and will incorporate a range of progressive teaching methodologies to develop the students’ 21 st Century skills.

We require teachers who can teach English plus two of the following subjects at Junior High School level:

  • Art and Design (Required: background/degree in Art or related field)
  • Digital Literacy (Required: teaching of critical thinking, media literacy, and/or digital media production; e.g digital photography and editing, digital music production, graphic design, digital
    video production)
  • Computing (Required: background/degree in IT, knowledge of IT systems and coding)
  • Global Perspectives (Required: teaching of critical thinking and other academic skills)
  • Music (Required: background/degree in Music)

Together with the members of the project team, you will:

  • Implement an international programme based on the Cambridge International system, Cambridge ESOL, and CLIL
  • Assist in designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive co-curricular system to support learning
  • Ensure your teaching employs cutting-edge educational principles and methodology (regular training will be provided)
  • Teach up to 3 subjects
  • Actively participate in an ongoing professional development programme
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress and well-being

This is a hugely challenging project, but one that has the potential to be game changing in Japan. As such, we are looking for high-caliber, passionate educators who would like to make meaningful change to education in this country. You will be fully supported throughout by an enthusiastic project team comprised of members of the school board, educators, educational consultants, admin staff, the Head of Programme, and other passionate and committed teachers.
