Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Native English speaker
• Valid work visa or permission to work
• Must currently live in Japan
• University graduate with at least a bachelor's degree
• Professional, flexible, and enjoy working with children

Preferred:

• Previous experience teaching children in Japan
• TEFL/TESL/TESOL/CELTA qualifications
• Basic or conversational Japanese

Searching for a part-time position teaching children? Do you recall the fun you had as a child watching Sesame Street?

If you answered yes to both then we want to talk to you!

Sesame Street English is the only curriculum in Japan that is licensed to use the Sesame Street name. Our students (and their parents) love the concept of having fun with Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Elmo and the rest of the Sesame Street characters while learning English.

The great thing about teaching with Sesame Street English is that there is little preparation needed. A quick review of the lesson plan to familiarize yourself with the media contents before your class is all you need to get started. We use a wide variety of video clips and an interactive touch screen to give our students a fun immersive experience.

As all positions are only part-time, Sesame Street English is ideal as an additional job after daytime commitments, or as a weekend job. You can work as regular teacher, or as standby teacher to take substitutes or any other non-regular lessons. We do not offer full-time positions.

Lesson Info:

• Kindergarten Levels: 50 min
• Primary School Levels: 60 min
• Lessons are on a fixed yearly schedule
• Japanese teaching assistant provided

School Hours:

• Weekdays: 14:00 - 20:00
• Weekends: 8:30 - 20:00
• Schools hold lessons 7 days a week, as well as on National Holidays.

Compensation:

• Lessons: ¥3000 per lesson
• Events: ¥3000 per hour
• Transportation is reimbursed
