  • Native English speaker; knowledge of Japanese is advantageous but not required.
  • Valid residency permit/visa allowing work in Japan (for non-Japanese citizens).

Job Title: After School Club English Teacher

Location: Sakura Valley Montessori Preschool, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo

Hours: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (sometimes 6:00 PM), Mondays through Fridays

Duration: School year 2024 – 2025 (starting September 2024)

Pay: Dependent on enrollment and experience

About Us: Sakura Valley Montessori Preschool is a small, international Montessori school catering to children aged 2 to 6 years old. Nestled in the heart of Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, we provide a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow.

Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated After School Club English Teacher to join our team. The role primarily involves overseeing our established After School Program, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing engaging lesson plans suitable for children aged 2 to 6 years old.
  • Supervising and facilitating activities that promote learning and development.
  • Collaborating closely with the preschool lead teacher to ensure continuity and alignment with school curriculum.
  • Supporting children in self-directed activities, fostering independence and creativity.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including organizing materials and resources.
  • Possibly assisting with the pick-up of children from nearby schools, ensuring their safe arrival at the after-school program.
  • Creating a nurturing and stimulating non-competitive environment where children feel safe to explore and learn.
