Company Description

LCA Kokusai Elementary School, located in the heart of Sagamihara, was founded in 1985. It was a small school with 4 students. It became a MEXT (Ministry of Education) accredited school in 2008. Since then our school has expanded to a student body of nearly 300 students.

Today LCA is more than just a school. Today LCA is an important part of our parent company, Edure LCA co., LTD.  Edure LCA is currently involved in developing a number of educational projects throughout Japan.

Role Description

This is a Full-Time On-Site Homeroom Teacher position at LCA Kokusai Elementary located in Sagamihara, Kanagawa. A homeroom teacher is in charge of a class (typically 15 - 20 students), supervises children at school and teaches them life skills as well as academic skills. Teachers are responsible for teaching a variety of subjects in English including: English, math, science, social studies, art, P.E., moral education, and more.

All employees work a 5-day 40 hour work week.

Job Description:

  • 5 days a Week, 40 hour work week. (Mon - Fri)
  • 2 Days Holiday (Sat & Sun)

1. Teaching duties:

  • Homeroom teacher who is in charge of a class for the entire school year.
  • Teach elementary aged students the Japanese national curriculum in English.
  • Teach in company-run commercial English programs for outsiders at least 2 times a year.

 

2. Duties include:

a. Teaching various subject matters in English to (mostly) Japanese children whose first language is not English.
b. Teaching children necessary life skills to be successful at school throughout their school life.
c. Running school-wide events such as Summer Camp, Sports Day, School Excursions, Performance Day, etc.
d. Helping with various company-run educational programs for after school as well as spring and summer school programs.

 

3. Administrative Duties:
a. Developing cordial relationships with families by providing regular updates on student progress.
b. Participating in school meetings, training sessions and workshops to horn teaching skills as well as to gain more qualifications.
c. Developing and implementing curriculums and designing original materials suited to the needs of our students.

 

Salary/Benefits:

  • 270,000 ~ DOE (Depeding on Education & Qualification)/ month
