Job Description

English Language Teacher Position in Osaka

 

We (Osaka Language Academy) believe everyone is different, learn differently and have different needs./wants.

Being a teacher with us means YOU are the most important thing to us, after all if we do not have teachers, we do not have students.

Our next team member will be part of a small team.

We have students of all ages from 3 upwards, through to businessmen and retired, therefore the team member needs to be comfortable around both kids and adults.

 

Kids are a real growth market for  us due to economic outlook and so experience is preferred and/or a genuine intertest in the next generation.

 

We are a small to medium, foreign owned family run school with 180-250 weekly students learning from our team in a freer working environment, with a real focus on communication between team members and providing a pleasant working atmosphere with weekly team meetings.

 

 

 

From Tuesday to Friday we are open from lunchtime to 9pm/930pm.   Saturdays are from 9am and finishing at 6pm. Thursdays we offer morning lessons, there are times when teachers may be asked to teach occasionally

 

Successful applicants will have an interview with the management team first on the phone, then a zoom video call, followed by a face to face interview with the team members.

 

Applicants who progress past the preliminary stages will be asked to give a sample lessons

 

This will allow you to ask questions about the school and what it is like to be part of the team.

Typical task involves; Classroom management; facilitating the lessons maximizing the students chance to speak while ensuring adequate correction is given depending on the students needs/likes

 

Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes and age groups;

e-mailing adult students homework if required;

marking and providing appropriate feedback on oral and written work; organizing and getting involved in social and cultural activities such as school events, school parties, dinners and excursions;

Involvement in school marketing ideas and implementation

attending and contributing to training sessions;

participating in marketing events for the school;

Administrational duties, such as keeping student registers and attendance records. Compensation and benefit
