Job Requirements

• Native-level English. Basic Japanese skills preferred.
•  Applicants must currently live in Japan and have a valid working visa.
• At least ONE year of teaching experience face-to-face with young children.
• Familiarity with best practice methodologies as they apply to teaching a diverse student body as well as evidence of recent professional growth activities
• Willingness to follow Foundation’s lesson plans using materials provided.
• Comfort in contributing to and working in a team environment.
• Must be active and energetic and have enthusiasm for teaching children.
• Professional with excellent communication skills.
• Punctual, responsible, flexible, reliable and how to clean up after using the classroom.
• Applicants who reside close to our school preferred.
• Availability on Tuesday to Friday 14:45 – 18:30 / Saturday 8:45 – 13:00 (2 or 3 classes each day)
• Occasional Special Events (Halloween and Christmas parties) you may be required to attend on Saturday afternoon.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified teacher | educator. We seek an individual who is passionate about education and willing and able to contribute to our school and student life in a wide variety of ways.

We are a small, friendly and family-style school. We have a set curriculum that is highly effective to help students learn English in fun way and improve their English skills. The afternoon classes are organized by level and are divided into 8 classes.

We teach children aged from 3 years to 15 years old at our school or online through activities such as music and games in order to develop their imagination and create an engaging environment where our children have fun while learning English.

 

Responsibilities

• Creation of a positive learning environment.
• Developing strategies for guiding positive behavior in children.
• Building positive and open communication with children, family, and staff.
• Preparation of the assessment portfolio and progress reports.
• Skill in time and classroom management
• Development strategies to enhance English proficiency in children.
• Preparing & attending school events.

 

Compensation & Benefits 

• JPY 2,100 for 60 minutes lesson / JPY 3,200 for 90 minutes lesson.
• Probation Period: JPY 1,500 through the training and probationary period for an initial month.  Our training system gets you into classes quickly. We just need you to be enthusiastic and eager to learn.
• School Events (not teaching – ie: Halloween Party / Christmas Party): JPY 1,700
• Occasional Special Events (Halloween and Christmas parties) you may be required to attend on Saturday afternoon.
• Our school will be closed during Spring/ Summer/ Christmas break etc. that provides you for a good work-life balance and enjoy spending time with your family and friends.
• Transportation fees (Max. JPY 10,000 per month)

Starting Date: Middle of November 2024 (Negotiable)

Work Location: Heiwadai Nerima-ku Tokyo
