We're looking for a retro gaming expert to help us rebuild our catalog of excellent retro games for avid collectors all over the world. Successful applicants will have a deep understanding of the retro gaming market, including knowledge of the ins and outs of current prices and trends.
This role not only requires a strong passion for retro games, but also deep understanding of what collectors expect from a reliable online store. That includes a dedication to fair pricing as well as maintaining high standards of quality assessment. Some general expectations for this position include:
- Scour retro game shops and hunt down desirable games for our catalog
- Find great deals and collections online through webshops and marketplaces such as Yahoo Auctions, Mercari
- Meticulously assess conditions of games in order to assign accurate and consistent ratings
- Determine fair pricing based on market value for any given item condition
- Establish reliable packaging guidelines to ensure items arrive in exactly the same condition as promised
- Manage inventory to maintain a wide selection of sought-after titles
Requirements:
Must-haves
- Retro game knowledge - from NES to PS2 and everything in between (Game Gear, Neo Geo, etc.)
- Solid grasp of market valuations, trends, and sentiments
- Detail oriented and thorough, to comprehensively assess item conditions and maintain established quality standards
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience with inventory management
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, or related field
Application Process:
If you're excited to join our dynamic team and have the qualifications we're looking for, please submit your resume and tailored cover letter, detailing your relevant experience and what you can bring to the table.
After this, you will complete an online interview and a potential in-person interview/trial day.
Please understand that due to the number of applications we receive, we will only be able to contact candidates whose qualifications match our requirements and who are selected for further consideration. Thank you for your understanding.
ABOUT OUR TEAM
Our team is made up of young, international staff from all over the world, although we all speak English at the office. If you have a passion for anime, gaming, or Japanese pop culture in general, you’ll definitely find a friend in us! But our passions extend beyond our hobbies and into our work – we are a team of self-starters who are driven by results and thrive on new challenges. This also means that we don’t have time for corporate hierarchy or politics, since what you can contribute matters the most. Yoroshiku!
