Job Description

Japan Gas is looking for a Sterilization Equipment Service Engineer who, as a technician, will visit factories of medical device manufacturers both in Japan and abroad to perform maintenance, adjustment, and operational testing of manufacturing equipment. Experience not required.

Our company specializes in providing gas sterilization equipment which prevents the serious consequences if bacteria contaminated medical devices or cosmetics which would greatly affect both the users and manufacturers. In this role, you will be responsible for traveling across Japan to perform on-site equipment maintenance for our clients.

About Gas Sterilization:
Gas sterilization is a method used for sterilizing medical devices and chemical equipment that cannot be sterilized using conventional methods. We have specialized in gas sterilization equipment for over 50 years and provide services not only in Japan but also to medical device manufacturers overseas.

Details
As a technician, you will visit factories of medical device manufacturers both in Japan and abroad to perform maintenance, adjustment, and operational testing of manufacturing equipment.

For Those Without Technical Experience:

You will start by acquiring basic technical knowledge and receive support through on-the-job training (OJT) with senior staff.
Routine maintenance tasks are always performed in teams of two or more, ensuring a supportive environment for newcomers.
You will learn essential skills using our in-house sterilization equipment.

Location
Nearest Stations:

25 minutes on foot from Keikyu Line "Namamugi Station"
10 minutes by bus from Keihin-Tohoku Line "Tsurumi Station" + 5-minute walk from "Shokuniku Ichiba-mae" bus stop

Working Hours
8:55 AM – 5:55 PM (1-hour break)
* Overnight stays may be required during business trips with all accommodation costs during business trips are fully covered by the company.

Salary
Monthly Salary: ¥225,000 – ¥300,000
Based on age, experience, and ability.

Salary Increases: Once per year
Bonuses: Given twice a year (performance based so not guaranteed). Average bonus in 2024 was 4.9 months.

Annual Income Examples:

¥4,000,000 for a 25-year-old employee with 3 years of experience (monthly salary ¥220,000 + allowances + annual bonus)
¥5,500,000 for a 36-year-old employee with 13 years of experience (monthly salary ¥340,000 + allowances + annual bonus)

Two days off per week - Work often done on weekends and holidays when clients’ factories are shut down with compensatory days off on weekdays.
