Part-Time English Instructor Position (Hakata, Nagasaki)

Job Requirements

Part Time Guaranteed (PTG) and Per Lesson (PL) positions are available. We offer competitive compensation with attractive benefits in a professional work environment. Training and materials provided.

Work Requirements:

The instructor must:

• be able and willing to travel long distances to teach in Nagasaki
• be available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; from early morning to late evening
• be able and willing to teach large groups of students using approved materials
• be responsible and flexible enough to complete all assigned administrative tasks accurately and on time

Qualification Requirements:
We are seeking instructors who:

• have a minimum of BA or BS degree
• are already living in/near Fukuoka City or in Nagasaki
• are native (or native fluent) English speakers
• are dynamic, mature and professional
• are culturally sensitive and have excellent organizational and communication skills

Good-to-have:

• currently living in Nagasaki, preferably in Sasebo
• be willing to take on additional lessons at Hakata Ekimae Language Center when not in Nagasaki
• be willing to take on additional roles, such as language level assessors
• be able enough with changing availability to cater to the needs of our customers, especially weekday evenings
• be able to combine their experience with exemplary teaching skills in delivering Berlitz-quality lessons
• be able to manage the completion of tasks and preparation for lessons on their own
• be flexible enough to manage unexpected requests and changes in a calm, professional manner
• be open to learning and applying new techniques and concepts for professional development, both in teaching and in personalizing business and social topics
• be capable of learning quickly from past mistakes and failures in order to maximize customer satisfaction and meet Berlitz quality standards

More details regarding traveling to Nagasaki will be shared during the face-to-face interview.

Visa / Residence Requirements:

Only domestic applicants already residing in Kyushu, with full availability for one of the Instructor Qualification Programs (IQP) will be considered (dates to be discussed in the first interview). No overseas applications accepted.

Job Description

Berlitz Japan Hakata Ekimae Language Center has new positions available. We are looking for professionally minded, experienced instructors who think on their feet and are looking for a challenge. We need instructors who can teach at one of our client sites in Nagasaki, as well as instructors who can cover lessons at our language center in Hakata.

Our specialty is personalizing lessons to find solutions for our customers’ unique needs.
