Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Nursing, pediatric care, or caregiving qualifications (including practical childcare or welfare certificates) are also valued.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience caring for young children in a nursery, kindergarten, or preschool setting.
  • Background in childcare, nursing, babysitting, or nanny services.
  • Experience supporting children’s daily routines — including feeding, hygiene, playtime, and rest.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support a lead teacher or caregiver.
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, patient, and responsible attitude toward children.

Additional Considerations:

  • English fluency required.
  • Japanese language ability is helpful but not necessary.
  • Candidates currently residing in Japan will be given preference.

Laurus International School of Science is seeking caring and reliable Nursery Support Teachers to work with young learners aged 1.5–6 years old. This position primarily focuses on childcare, safety, and well-being, supporting the homeroom teacher in managing the daily classroom environment. While the homeroom teacher leads the educational program, the Nursery Support Teacher plays a key role in creating a warm, safe, and nurturing atmosphere that helps children feel happy and ready to learn.

Preference will be given to candidates currently in Japan. English fluency is required, but Japanese language ability is not necessary.

About the Role

As a Nursery Support Teacher, you will:

  • Assist the homeroom teacher in daily classroom routines and activities.
  • Focus on children’s physical and emotional well-being, ensuring their safety, hygiene, comfort, and happiness throughout the day.
  • Support children during snack/lunch times, playtimes, rest periods, and transitions.
  • Help prepare and maintain a safe, engaging, and organized learning environment.
  • Build caring and positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Encourage children’s social and emotional development through play and daily interactions.

Position Details

Salary: 
¥200,000–¥250,000 per month (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)

Working Hours: 

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week
