Job Description

We're looking for an experienced, passionate coach to join our team working with school-based sports programs in the Tokyo area, covering Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Baseball. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of student-athletes, working directly alongside school teams and after-school programs to build skills, discipline, and a love of the game.

You'll bring your competitive playing background and coaching expertise to design and lead practices, support teams during matches, and work closely with school staff to create a positive, development-focused environment for young athletes. Because this role is embedded in school and after-school schedules, no two weeks look exactly the same — you'll need to be adaptable, reliable, and ready to adjust your schedule around practices, games, and tournaments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and leading age-appropriate training sessions
  • Coaching and supporting teams during matches and competitions
  • Coordinating schedules with school teams and after-school program staff
  • Tracking player development and providing feedback to students (and where appropriate, parents/guardians)
  • Maintaining a safe, positive, and disciplined training environment following Child Safeguarding guidelines.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay based on qualifications and experience
