JOYTALK is now accepting applications for energetic and enthusiastic native English speakers to work as ALTs in Japanese public junior high schools and elementary schools in the Kanto and Tohoku regions of eastern Japan.
Joytalk has been recruiting foreign staff for 36 years. We pride ourselves on providing quality and personal assistance to our foreign language staff. We provide visa sponsorship, paid holidays, discounted car rental, rental accommodation, reimbursement for work transportation costs and 24 hour support and assistance where needed. We also provide on-going teacher training with workshops held a number of times throughout the year including before the start of the teaching assignment.
The positions are Monday to Friday with work hours falling somewhere between 8am and 5pm daily depending on the location. The salary may vary depending on the specific conditions of each contract and will range between 200,000 and 250,000 yen per month.
We support our teachers not only in teaching, but in all aspects of life in Japan. We will assist you prior to your arrival, we will be there to help you setup once you arrive and help with any problems, negotiations, accidents, emergencies, etc, throughout your stay.
Job Requirements
Applicants must be native speakers of English, have at least a bachelor's degree from a university, be able to communicate in Japanese at a conversational level, enjoy working with children, be outgoing with students and teachers taking initiative even in situations where English is not the main language, and be a team player.
Applicants must meet these requirements for each position:

- Be outgoing with students and teachers where English may not be the main language
Applicants would also be highly regarded if they hold education qualifications, conversational Japanese language skills and / or have previous ALT experience or teaching experience in their home country. A driver's license valid for use in Japan and willingness to drive would be beneficial but not required for every position.

Benefits
Training will be provided before beginning work. Ongoing training and workshops are held throughout employment.
Employees must be enrolled in health insurance and pension. We will be happy to help with enrollment in the National Health Insurance and Pension after employment.
Routine work week and working hours usually Monday to Friday between 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Salary based on positions and skills and experience range from 2.33 million yen to 2.91 million yen a year.
We support our ALTs not only in teaching, but also in all aspects of life in Japan, 24 hours a day, including such things as large or small problems, negotiations, accidents, emergencies, etc.
