Job Description

AEON Online Lesson is looking for enthusiastic, professional English conversation teachers to work part-time teaching adults and children.

Primary Qualifications: Applicants should have a native level of English and a good understanding of English grammar.

Location: Remote. Teachers work from their homes. Students are mainly located in Japan, but may be located around the world. Lessons can only be taught from approved locations and cannot be taught from cafes, etc.

Operating Hours and Schedule: 7:00 – 24:00 Monday - Sunday. Teachers should work a minimum of 3 shifts a week. Work days and shift length are negotiable before the start of the contract. It is strongly preferred that teachers work at least one weekend shift.

Salary: 800 yen per 20 minutes lesson.

Contract Length: Maximum 12-month contract, renewable. The first three months of the initial contract are probationary.

Training: Paid training: 1,500 yen per hour. Trainings are typically conducted remotely and may take 5-6 hours. Children’s training is conducted separately and may take up to 2 hours.

Teaching Materials and Equipment: AEON teaches conversational English to students from 6-years old through retirees using a wide range of materials, created both in-house and by third parties. AEON will provide all necessary teaching materials. Teachers will need to provide their own computer equipment (desktop, laptop, or tablet with keyboard) including a suitable camera and microphone, as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.

Other Considerations:

Experience is preferred, but less-experienced applicants are welcome.
