Job Description

Thank you for taking the time to check out English Access. Our main focus is on providing quality English lessons, as you might expect. However, one of our philosophies is to make sure our teachers grow and improve in the ELT profession. The position involves teaching a mix of Adult and Young Learner classes. As a large school, with around 600 students, we offer a broad range of courses. This means you will have the opportunity to engage with varied age groups, levels and types of course. One of our main specialties is CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) courses for Young Learners; teaching real school subjects through the medium of English. We are looking for teachers who have experience with this or wish to expand their skills in this area.

In terms of training, you may have a lot of experience, or none! If you have very little experience, this is a great place to learn about best practice within ELT, backed up by mainstream theory. During your first 3 months you can expect support, training sessions and constructive feedback to help you succeed. If on the other hand you’ve got significant experience and/or qualifications, that’s fantastic too. We have the flexibility and understanding to use the talent we have at our disposal in the right way. Whatever your background, we will try our best to offer opportunities to obtain industry recognized teaching qualifications through on the job study and training sessions during your time with us.

In the past five years, we’ve also been developing our own unique courses with textbooks, music and graded comic book readers with our publishing arm, AAS Press. We’ve also developed a gamified learner dictionary app for language learners called The Gamerize Dictionary. This part of the business is growing and we are looking for creative and dynamic individuals who may be able to contribute in the future after they’ve settled in their primary teaching role. Position Details and Available Hours

Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Kawanishi, Hyogo

Days: 5 days a week, Tuesday – Saturday

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12:45-20:45, Saturday 9:45 – 17:45

Starting Salary: 250,000 – 300,000 yen per month depending on experience and qualifications

Possible salary increase after 3-month probation period.

Additional Monthly Allowance: 5,000 per month for leading 3-hour CLIL/kindergarten classes

Transportation: Up to 15,000 yen per month covered
