Job Description

KBS ALT – Great Opportunities for Public School Teachers

Would you like to work at great schools for an ALT company that will always support you? KBS offers excellent training and opportunities to improve as a teacher and advance your career.

The Position

KBS is currently looking for a fun, enthusiastic, and energetic ALT for a position in public schools. We would like an ALT who is flexible, a team player, and has a passion for teaching. ALTs are an important part of Japanese school life as they provide a positive and friendly window through which to see the rest of the world. Through communication ALTs, students, and teachers all benefit each other.

• Elementary school and/or Junior High School

• Hours: Monday to Friday between 8 AM to 5 PM

Benefits of being an ALT

ALTs in Japan provide a vital service for Japanese public schools. They enjoy the benefits of working in a stable and professional working environment supervised by real teachers in Japan. This working environment gives those working as ALTs an excellent opportunity to learn teaching skills, improve their Japanese, and work with a sense of purpose.

ALTs also enjoy consistent daytime working hours, meaning they have evenings and weekends off to pursue their interests.  No late-night grind to deal with. This means ALTs have a better work-life balance than other foreign English teachers in Japan who might have to work shift schedules or late into the night.

ALTs get all national holidays off from work just like other workers in Japan. ALTs also get significant time off from school in August which can be used for travel, recreation, or working on other passion projects. It's the perfect chance to see and experience more of Japan.

Many locations also provide Social Insurance.

School year start: April 2024 to March 2025

New hires with good performance could be offered a contract for a further year.

KBS operates in many cities across Fukuoka Prefecture.

Fukuoka Prefecture is in the southwest of Japan in sunny Kyushu. It has two of the best cities to live and work in Japan and many other smaller communities with long rich histories. Fukuoka is a gourmet mecha that offers a low cost of living with plenty of shopping and entertainment. There are also many undeveloped places in Fukuoka that continue in a state of natural beauty, perfect for camping and weekend nature treks. There's no shortage of interesting activities, locations, and events to match all interests and lifestyles.

Fukuoka prefecture offers a great opportunity to experience authentic Japan in a place that is welcoming of foreigners. Many foreigners choose to come and live in Fukuoka thanks to the lower cost of living, friendly people, endless cultural activities, great opportunities, and to experience the cities being in balance with the natural environment.

With Gion festivals, city nightlife, beaches, mouthwatering food, mountain vistas, historical sites, and ancient shrines and temples, Fukuoka truly has something for everyone.
