Job Requirements

Depending on the position being applied for, we prefer applicants who:

• Are qualified and hold a teaching credential for Primary education or Early Childhood Education
• Have had a minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience within a recognized English-medium educational system
• Can effectively utilize technology within the classroom
• Can cope with students of mixed abilities, some of whom English is not a first language
• Have the energy necessary to effectively handle classes consisting primarily of young learners

Job Description

Maple Leaf Education Group is the parent company of Maple Leaf International School in Matsusaka city and Mie International School in Tsu city, both located in Mie Prefecture. As our school serves an international community, many of our teachers come from overseas on one—or two-year contracts. As a result, we will have several positions open starting in April 2025.

Founded in 2008, Maple Leaf International School is the largest International Preschool program in Mie Prefecture. Based in Matsusaka city, the school caters to students mainly between the ages of 2-6 years old in an English immersion environment. The school utilizes the International Early Years Curriculum, alongside an accelerated math and literacy program.

Mie International School was founded in 2019 in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. The school uses the International Primary Curriculum coupled with Japanese National and Common Core Standards for language and math within the elementary program and a theme-based learning approach using the International Early Years Curriculum within the preschool program.

The ideal candidate should be interested in a long-term commitment to a reputable school. As the school continues to expand, opportunities for advancement will also become available.
