Boarding / International School Admissions Consultant (In-person)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a professional Admissions Consultant with experience in the Boarding school admissions process to help families and students navigate the complex admissions landscape, guiding them from school selection through to matriculation.

This role is part-time and in-person, and we offer flexible hours to accommodate your schedule.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an organization of 150+ team members worldwide. You will play a crucial role in helping students and families find the right boarding school fit and prepare strong applications.

What you will be doing:

• Work one-on-one (or one-on-family) with students and their parents to guide school selection and university and boarding school admissions planning
• Help build a personalized list of university, boarding, and international schools that match the student’s academic profile, interests, extracurricular strengths, and family preferences
• Provide application and admissions support: helping with school selection strategy, evaluating fit, crafting application strategy
• Offer essay and personal statement guidance to help students present their narratives and strengths authentically and compellingly
• Support interview preparation: mock interviews, coaching on presentation, communication skills, and thinking through common or school-specific questions
• Advise on extracurricular, academic, or personal projects to build a well-rounded profile aligned with boarding school admission expectations
• Coordinate with parents to manage documents, deadlines, and application logistics (transcripts, recommendations, forms, school visits if applicable)
• Provide ongoing support through the admissions process, from initial consultation to application submission, interview, decision, and, if needed, reapplication or waitlist strategy
• Stay updated on the admissions requirements, entrance exams, and entry processes for a wide range of boarding and international schools globally

Our ideal candidate has/is:

• Has graduated from a top tier U.S. or U.K. University
• Is very interested in working and living in Japan
• Preferably has at least 2 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated success in helping students receive offers to top schools
• Familiarity with boarding school or international admissions processes (boarding school, international high school, or similar)
• Excellent written and spoken English; Japanese proficiency is a plus, given our international and Japan-based client base
• Highly organized and detail-oriented: comfortable managing multiple applications, deadlines, and families at once
• Adaptability and responsiveness, able to tailor guidance to different students’ strengths, interests, and backgrounds
• A genuine passion for education, student growth, and long-term student success

Work hours:

• 10 to 20 hours per week, flexible schedule
• Work hours will align with the schedules of students in Tokyo, Japan. Peak hours of consulting range from 4pm to 10pm JST on weekdays, and 9am to 9pm JST on weekends
