Job Requirements
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work directly with the Manager to support operations, staff, and guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job. You’ll lead by example during service and help keep the team motivated, organized, and confident.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily bar & restaurant operations during service
- Supervise staff on shift (bartenders, floor staff, kitchen coordination)
- Help train new staff and support ongoing skill development
- Ensure friendly, fast, and consistent customer service
- Handle guest issues calmly and professionally
- Assist with cash handling, POS, and end-of-day procedures
- Support inventory checks, ordering, and stock organization
- Help manage shift schedules and last-minute adjustments
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and venue standards
- Act as Manager-in-Charge when the Manager is off
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment
- Comfortable working in a busy, social, late-night setting
- Good people skills: a firm but friendly leadership style
- Can communicate clearly with both Japanese and non-Japanese staff
- English conversational level preferred (Japanese strongly valued)
- Reliable, calm under pressure, and solution-oriented
- Enjoys customer interaction and building regulars

About the Venue
We are a friendly, high-energy international bar & restaurant in Nagoya with a strong community vibe. Our venue is known for great drinks, casual food, events, and known for great authentic western food and amazing drinks. Many of our customers are regulars, and teamwork and personality matter as much as experience.
We’re looking for an Assistant Manager who enjoys being on the floor with the the staff, guiding and supporting staff, and being the glue to help build and run the venue day to day.
Salary & Benefits
Monthly Salary:
- ¥280,000 – ¥330,000 (depending on experience and responsibility)
